BOE Recap 27 Ideas for Creative and Interactive Events – From Fine Art to New Technology

The Best of Events (BOE) trade fair has once again demonstrated the extraordinary creative achievements event professionals are capable of when it comes to crafting outstanding experiences. On January 15 and 16, 2025, the halls of the Dortmund exhibition center showcased a wealth of new innovations, while established providers in the event industry proved their ability to continuously reinvent themselves.

The editorial teams of marketingScout.com, German marketing magazine, and EventMasterBook.de, Event magazine, both published by AdCoach Media, (adcoach.de), were on-site, specifically searching for new products and services for the event industry. In addition to the trending topic of "AI" (Artificial Intelligence), which dominated the expert stages at BOE 2025, it was primarily new materials, innovative technologies, interactive event modules, and refined artistry that surprised and delighted the visitors of the event exhibition in Dortmund / Germany.

The following ideas are just a small selection of the many interesting offerings presented at BOE Best of Events 2025 (these spontaneously caught the editorial team’s eye while walking through the Dortmund exhibition halls):

(1) The LED floors and illuminated letters from Easy Event Entertainment – a real eye-catcher, perfect for entrance areas, dynamic dance floors, and stylish selfie motifs.

(2) Interactive performing arts were showcased by TukkersConnexion, a theater group that, among other things, drew a lot of attention with its "living sofa" (see cover image / Monika Monzel, EventMasterBook.de editorial team, marketingScout.com). Visitors who took a seat on it were charmed by two very lively "sofa heads."

(3) No less artistic were the walking acts presented by Pantao. Their performance art is characterized by imaginative creations and skilled presentation. The artful horse heads and massive turtles garnered great interest as genuine art objects. (4) The same applies to the "Dance Parader", which sent the "smallest mobile disco in the world" through the halls at BOE 2025.

(5) The "live gardening" by Bastian’s Gärtnerei was very enchanting – featuring Bastian, a mime artist who won the hearts of visitors with his detailed plant demonstrations. He filled small pots with flower seeds chosen by each guest. His mime art in addition created a wonderful one-to-one experience.

(6) Leony la Roc was one of the eye-catchers at BOE 2025 with her elaborate champagne-bar dress. The unique outfit can accommodate numerous champagne glasses and/or a flying buffet. The artist herself is an elegant presence, focusing on originality and exclusivity in her costumes. Her stylish performances are perfect for events where authentic luxury moments are indispensable.

(7) The company "Florales Ambiente", active throughout Germany, created a vibrant and colorful atmosphere at BOE 2025 with stunning floral decorations. The company specializes in event and trade show greenery. (8) The innovative LED stripes from SPIE Medientechnik allow event spaces to be decorated with modern motifs and moving images of all kinds and impress with changing information. Thanks to their advanced technology, the LED stripes can be mounted without complex substructures, even on thin trade show walls.

(9) Those feeling hungry and wanting to see their own face (or their boss’s) on a pancake learned from the team at Kunst+Event how to create and enjoy quick pancake portraits. The amusing question for the activity was: "Who do you want to fry next?"

(10) Those seeking action instead of culinary delights could experience on esport-manager.com how gaming and football merge into a gripping event module. In eFootball, teams can compete against each other or play against an "AI".

(11) Equally exciting was the concept of driftevent.de: real motorsports in miniature format. The racing game with model cars operates entirely electrically, perfectly aligning with the spirit of the age topic of "eMobility."

(12) Despite the many future-focused experience modules, nostalgia was not neglected at BOE 2025. The jukebox rental service "Juke in the Box" (Felix Haas, located in Cologne, Germany) is consciously dedicated to the vintage theme. Those looking for nostalgic moments for their wedding, party, or corporate event will find them here. The originals with vinyl records, among other things, from the 1960s are true eye- and ear-catchers.

(13) A beautiful connection between technology and humanity was shown by the event robot "Sparky", which authentically interacted with guests and created lovely memories as a walk-act with its built-in photo booth. On stage, it performed a futuristic magic show together with magician Jean Olivier.

(14) In terms of music, BOE featured remarkable concepts, including the marching band mahoïn Mobil with its "Pulse of St. Pauli" concept, as well as the music professionals from (15) myband.de, who offer professional live music acts for every occasion in striking outfits across numerous genres.

(16) The foolpool team delivers unique event modules that appeal to both the eyes and the heart – from spectacular walking acts to a creative telephone booth for "relaxed waiting", from which attendees could send themselves a postcard to their home at the perfect time (e.g., 1, 3, or 12 months after the event).

(17) For mobile venues, QuickSpace was the go-to. The company specializes in inflatable Quick-Spaces such as Event Domes, Sky Walls, and Event Cubes for all types of events. (18) A full-service concept for temporary wooden event spaces, to use at indoor and outdoor areas, was presented by the team from Ephemere Square, Munich / Germany.

(19) Among the interesting event locations at BOE 2025 were Topgolf in Oberhausen (Germany) – a modern golf training facility with diverse event areas that delights not only avid golfers but also those who want to try golf in a relaxed atmosphere. (20) The location Stella Rheni positions itself as Germany’s most exclusive event location – with an exquisite catering concept in collaboration with Metz Catering & Event Manufaktur, making it the perfect place for luxurious events, conferences, and celebrations along the river Rhine.

(21) Turtleneck presented itself as a small, innovative "event star" for glasses – the first flexible stainless steel straw. Available in various designs from the German company Halmbrüder, it is reusable, dishwasher-safe, and attractively packaged, making it an ideal and sustainable giveaway for guests. (22) For those seeking giveaway solutions via vending machines, TREK Event Konzept by Tobias Reichler caught attention. His ARA machines can be individually branded and stocked with various goodies and gadgets (e.g., sweets, plant seeds, etc.). At BOE, he showcased a machine themed around safety and stocked it with colorful condoms, which was well-received.

That professional event business involves not only fun but also a lot of work behind the scenes was demonstrated by event safety specialists, including (23) "Care for Events" and (24) "DiG." At BOE 2025, the DiG GmbH, specializing in rescue services, paramedics, and fire protection, showcased a real rescue vehicle, drawing significant interest.

(25) A true "advertising classic" with a high impact before and during events was presented by the aerial advertising network SkyGraphics. Large-format advertising banners in the sky achieve high reach and are also attractive from a cost and sustainability perspective.

(26) A genuine "world first" was presented by the company Fotoboden. Their product developers had just completed their latest material for event floors made from recycled cooking fats and oils in time for BOE 2025. Used cooking oil gets a new life in these innovative floor coverings, a true hit in terms of sustainability.

(27) And finally, a service of interest to all event planners working with international audiences: The LiveVoice.io app provided live translations of the presentations on the various stages of the BOE 2025 event fair. The service was available to all visitors free of charge and proved its functionality in practical use.
