These days, we are constantly confronted with a flood of information and new demands. Therefore it is more important than ever to incorporate recreational moments into our daily routine and care for work-life-balance. Workshops that help with slowing down and relaxing from the hectic day-to-day work are exciting supporting programme modules at business/corporate events.
The topic of "forest bathing" is a good example of such an interesting and relevant workshop theme. In the Japanese culture, the regeneration technique called "Shinrin-Yoku" has been established for decades. The aim of the technique is to gain greater health, a strengthened immune system, and a sense of happiness through conscious time spent in the forest.
In Europe, "forest bathing" is becoming a major trend topic at Business/Corporate Events. Many people are interested in new techniques of how to relax and decelerate – workshops and seminars on the subject are therefore very well accepted. During a 30-minute to several-hour workshop, one learns to breathe consciously, to feel the energetic power of the trees, to enjoy the healthy air. Furthermore, one can acquire new knowledge about the forest, the different tree species and their invaluable value for our environment.
In Germany, "forest bathing" seminars and excursions are becoming popular, for example, in city marketing and tourism marketing activities, at public events, corporate events, "Green Events" and as a supporting programme for trade fairs and sales conferences.
One example is provided by the tourist destination of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, a region in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Since June 2021, for example, the tourism office has been offering a series of events on the topic to get tourists and citizens excited about the region, which is characterized by beautiful nature. With the support of professional "forest bathers," visitors can get to know the region’s forest in more detail on various topics in a group and use the new knowledge to slow down their own everyday lives.
