International Brand Festival IKEA Festival tours 9 metropolises and also inspires Online

Under the motto "From Dreaming to Doing", the Swedish home furnishing brand IKEA is launching its festival tour 2022 around the globe. In 9 cities on 9 days of action, there will be new inspiration on 10 different lifestyle topics, including gaming, music, nature, sustainability, nutrition and smart home. Those who can’t be on site can get inspired online via a new live shopping format. 

In the context of its hybrid festival event, which was implemented for the first time in 2021, IKEA invites all customers and interested parties to turn their living dreams into reality. In cooperation with international content creators, the IKEA Festival is touring around the globe, almost all continents are included. In Europe, the festival stops in Vienna, Paris, Stockholm and Madrid. Those who don’t want to travel there, you can be part of the festival online, e.g. via Liveshopping. There will also be inspiring creator content on the social media and a new branded marketing platform that will broadcast the festival activities via livestream.

The festival concept has an empirical background: The IKEA "Life at Home Report 2021" had shown that hobbies and personal projects are important for the mental well-being of many people worldwide. With the "IKEA Festivals," the international home furnishing brand wants to reward people’s creativity and support them in their projects with innovative ideas and inspiration.

This is the schedule for the international IKEA Festival on-site activities:
The grand opening event will take place on August 26 at IKEA Round Rock in Austin, Texas. Here, everything revolves around music. It will be shown how one’s own home can provide space for making music. The event continues on August 27 at IKEA Vienna Westbahnhof, and on August 28 the festival stops at IKEA Xuhui in Shanghai. On September 2, it’s back to the U.S. at IKEA Brooklyn, New York. The focus here will be on a fashion show and tips on fashion and beauty. On September 3, IKEA Tempe, Sydney, will host a day full of inspiration around the themes of travel, sustainable plant-based nutrition and music. Stockholm invites visitors to a gaming day with the Swedish national gaming team at the newly opened IKEA City store in the Gallerian shopping center on September 4. On September 8, the IKEA Festival visits the IKEA City Store in Harajuku, a Tokyo neighborhood famous for street style, anime and teen pop culture. On September 9, IKEA San Sebastian de los Reyes in Madrid will once again focus on gaming. The closing of the IKEA Festival 2022 will be celebrated on September 10 in Paris at IKEA Décoration. Here, visitors and guests will meet creative and inspiring people from very different branches.
