Snacks out of the box NBTC Offers Seaweed Snack Vending Machine at IMEX Frankfurt

Anyone who has visited the cities of Amsterdam or Utrecht has likely come across one of the iconic vending machines offering fried Dutch specialties. The Netherlands Board of Tourism and Convention (NBTC) is now introducing such a machine at IMEX (May 14th to 16th, 2024, Frankfurt am Main). However, this one won’t dispense fried eggs, croquettes, or Frikandel sandwiches. The innovative NBTC "Dutch Seaweed Bar" at IMEX will be stocked only with healthy algae snacks. So don’t miss out on the new green experience.

The Netherlands Board of Tourism and Convention (NBTC) is known for presenting itself with very special actions at the annual IMEX in Frankfurt, Germany. This year, NBTC will surprise visitors of Europe’s most significant travel and event trade show with a "Dutch Seaweed Bar." It’s a reinterpretation of the typical Dutch snack vending machines where one can still get fried treats late at night. However, the version at the IMEX NBTC booth will be filled with innovative, healthy, and sustainable snacks straight from the Dutch North Sea.

With the innovative "Dutch Seaweed Bar", NBTC aims to underscore the Netherlands' positioning as an innovative and sustainable destination for business meetings and events. The algae used in the snacks come from one of the largest nature reserves in the Netherlands, the Oosterschelde. These North Sea delicacies are packaged in environmentally friendly, biodegradable cardboard boxes, which also serve as promotional tools with information about business meetings, conferences, and events in the Netherlands.

Lisa Diepstraten, Campaign Marketer at NBTC, states: "It’s in our nature to find innovative ways to convey our story as a destination – and our latest project with the Dutch Seaweed Bar helps us achieve that goal. From sustainability and technology to health and New Dutch – this new experience for visitors to our booth will show what sets our destination apart from our competitors in the world of business events."

NBTC directly aligns with this year’s IMEX theme "Impact" with the Dutch seaweed snack bar. IMEX Frankfurt is one of the most important platforms for business meetings, events, exhibitions and conferences in Europe. It brings together international MICE industry service providers with travel and event decision-makers. The trade show this year takes place from May 14th to 16th, 2024.
