In the event planning phase, especially when planning business events, the question often arises, whether alcoholic beverages can be served at a lunch buffet. Many event planners reject wine and beer as beverages for daytime events for reasons. On the other hand, event participants desire a nice glass of wine with a good pasta or business barbecue. By serving non-alcoholic beer and wine, both sides can be satisfied.
Very good non-alcoholic beers have been on the market for many years. In the case of non-alcoholic wines, on the other hand, manufacturers have had more difficulties in recent years. But now a new tasting study by the German wine trade journal WEINWIRTSCHAFT (Publisher: Meininger Verlag) gives cause for optimism.
According to the editors, there is still a long way to go before dealcoholized wines prevail over the classic (alcoholic) wines. But the qualities improve from year to year. This is also shown by the largest tasting of dealcoholized wines to date, carried out in 2022 by the wine magazine. On the basis of 247 tastings, 43 German wine and sparkling wine products can be recommended by the editors as "good to very good" without restriction, and three even received an "outstanding" rating.
